This Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain by the Mahakal forest on the right banks of the river Kshipra. The temple courtyard is dominated by the shikhara soaring into the sky. This temple has five levels, four above ground and one underground which is lit by brass lamps to light the way. This is Shiva in his form as Mahakaleshvar, the "Ruler of Death"
